Staffordshire pottery pearlware bull baiting group early 19th century England
Reference: 4727
Dated: c. 1820 Staffordshire England
A very rare Staffordshire pearlware pottery bull baiting group.
This piece is modelled with the most spectacular coloured base with well executed figures of a farmer the bull and a rather charming dog.
The group is exceptionally well decorated and the subject matter is mitigated by the quality and pleasing rendition of all the figures which provides a more romanticized aspect than most of the figures in this genre.
One of the rarest Bull Baiting figures produced in Staffordshire England.
