A comical Staffordshire pearlware bocage pottery figure group with a couple squabbling over who get the next drink of alcholic beverage. The dog watches on seated dutifully by the female figures feet. The male figure is holding a rather large stick at the his partners throat who gulps away despite his unwanted attentions. A classic bawdy figure from the early 19th century depicting an aspect of social life and the human condition.
