Prattware figure of an elephant in the form of a money box bank early 19th century
Reference: 4440
Dated: c. 1820 to c. 1830 Yorkshire England
A rare Yorkshire Pottery Prattware figure of an elephant in the form of a money bank.
Strangely the figure has the added relief modeled feature of a cherub who is taking a ride and a female head over the base which has the words "SAVE ALL" impressed. The figure is modelled and decorated in the round with identical back and front.
Such pieces which were made for children are increasingly rare, this fine example is a true survivor.
