An important and rare fine pair of pottery lions, the left fore-paw resting on a sphere and modelled standing on green oblong bases.
The figures were produced at the famous Ralph Wood pottery based in Burslem Staffordshire and date to the late 18th century period.
The glaze and colouring of the figures is exceptional and the modelling is typical of the work of Ralph Wood one of the most influential figure makers in England.
The pair are very impressive and in wonderful condition with no restoration.
Both figures are impressed on the reverse with the number "32".
