A very rare and naively modelled English pottery figure of a bird in a tree,late 18th century period.
A hole at the end of the birds tail feathers turn this highly amusing and decorative piece into a whistle. The brown clay base is in the neo classical style and this combination of the classic with the naive render this figure a wonderful piece of folk art, it is a true "one off".
