FOLK ART NAIVE MODEL OF A BIRD PERCHED IN TREE

Reference: 6832

Dated: c. 1780 England

A very rare and naively modelled English pottery figure of a bird in a tree, late 18th century period.
A hole at the end of the birds tail feathers turn this highly amusing and decorative piece into a whistle. The brown clay base is in the neo classical style and this combination of the classic with the naive render this figure a wonderful piece of folk art, it is a true "one off".
