English pottery delftware Armorial Pill Slab ; Mortlake London dated 1785

A London delftware armorial pill slab, probably Mortlake. The octaganal slab is vibrantly decorated in blue with the arms of the Society of Apothercaries flanked by unicorns. The latin inscription motto is painted in manganese pigment. Interestingly the back of the pill slab is inscribed "J Butler 1785".
Shards were located in excavations by the London Museum on the Mortlake delft pottery site in a context period of the last quarter of the 18th century.

Current Condition Fine unrestored condition with minor fritting at the rim.
