English delftware pottery blue dash delft charger with portrait of King George II

Reference: 4858

Dated: 1714 to 1727 Bristol or Brislington England

Early 18th century English delftware dish with a standing figure of a King , probably George 1st. The king is wearing an ermine lined cloak with sceptre crown and orb symbols of Royalty usually associated with a coronation.
The dish has a classic blue dash border.
A feature of the dish is the red lined decoration on the side of the tree branches.
The dish has a mass of "tinker" make do repairs with approximately 50 rivets on the reverse, a work of art in its own right which does not detract from the appeal, the repairs are virtually invisible on the front.
A dish full of heart and history.

Diameter: 13.50inch

Medium: delft delftware earthenware ceramic pottery

Current Condition Restored on front and tinker repairs to back.
