Antique commemorative creamware pottery tankard. Decorated with a fine and rare underglaze black transfer print depicting the portrait of Nelson flanked by flags, ships with an angel hovering above. The verse under the head of Nelson mourns the passing of the great man.
This verse appears on pieces from the Phillips Hylton Pottery based in Sunderland North East England.
