A true pair of Staffordshire pottery tree trunk figure group in underglaze colours.
A rare occurence for a true pair to still be together in 2014.
Tree trunk groups were decorative and functional where they were used to hold spills/tapers ( think strips of wood) which could be used to transport the flame from the fire.
