Dated: c. 1820 Staffordshire
Antique Staffordshire pottery large scale figure group.
The group has figures of a doe and stag with a boy playing pipes whilst sitting in the bole of a tree with his dog. There are also two figures of sheep, the total rendition of the group is absurd, amusing and charming. The pottery figure group is well coloured and exceptionally modelled with a good pearlware glaze. These large scale figures are increasingly rare.
A very similar figure is located in the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge England.
