A fine Staffordshire pottery pearlware bust well modelled and decorated in enamel colours.
The figure bears the inscription "Zingore" under the socle shaped base.
Ralph Wood was the first Staffordshire potter to produce this figure which was titled Zingaria and was probably inspired by a period classical Roman figure.
Zingore is likely a spelling mistake of this unusual exotic name.
Zingaria is named as an "Eygptian Priestess" on the base of a Ralph Wood bust.
