Antique Prattware English pottery plaque with applied images of rural sports and cherubs 18th century period

An interesting Prattware English pottery plaque with applied sprig decoration connected with rural sports but with the curious addition of figures of cherubs. The plaque has a beaded border with restrained application of the oxide colours associated with Prattware.
A very unusual and decorative whimsical piece from the English potters.
A similar plaque is illustrated in the John and Griselda Lewis book on Prattware.

Current Condition Fine unrestored condition

Literature: John and Griselda Lewis page 118 Pratt Ware English and Scottish relief decorated and underglaze coloured earthenware 1780-1840.
Griselda Lewis has recently died (March 2014) . She and her husband are acknowledged as major contributors to the knowledge of British pottery.
