Antique Pottery Scottish stirrup cup of a hound early 19th century.
This early pottery piece is a rare and unusual example because of its large scale and striking modelling and decoration. It is very much a country piece and is an unrecorded form.
The size of the stirrup cup with its strong decorative appeal would make a special feature in a collection. It probably originates from one of the Portobello Potteries in Scotland as the colour palette corresponds with much of the output from these workshops.
