Antique pottery prattware clock group with figures in the form of a money bank. Yorkshire 1810
Reference: 2171
Dated: 1800 to 1810 Yorkshire England
Antique English prattware clock figure money box from Yorkshire in the early 19th century period.
The piece is modelled with a central longcase clock and flanked by figures of a lady with a great hat and a rather weary looking farmer. The figure of the dog lying at the foot of the clock adds some humour and charm.
Decorated with a relief moulded technique and coloured with the Pratt palette with blue pre-dominating. A rare and decorative piece, increasingly rare as many of these pottery banks would have been broken to extract the savings.
