Antique pottery pearlware charger with Peafowl English early 19th century.
This rare blue edged piece is in very fine clean order with excellent rendition of the peafowl in the center panel. The orange head and cowlick like crest suggested to the Deikes ( produced the definitive reference on the subject) the name "Baby" for this particular bird. They note that the patch of blue sky is a unique feature of this pattern.
Early 19th century and produced for the UK home market and the United States of America.
