Antique English Staffordshire pottery figure of Simon or Cymon circa 1815

Dated: c. 1815 Staffordshire England

An exceptionally fine example of Simon also known as Cymon probably produced by the Wood family of Burslem Staffordshire. The figure is well modelled with very good enamel colors and pearlware glaze. The face of Cymon is very expressive on this appealing figure related to classical Rome and the Decameron fable.
