Antique English pottery pearlware figure of Neptune.
The figure was produced at the Obadiah Sherratt workshops in Burslem Staffordshire in the early 19th century.
The figure of Neptune is well modelled with good movement, he is a holding a trident and is flanked by a wonderful figure of a dolphin. The tablebase is associated exclusively to Sherratt.The figure is titled on the base NEPTUNE within a cartouche decorated with a pink luster border, a most unusual and rare detail for Sherratt.A strong and decorative feature of this figure is the assemblage of shells under Neptunes feet, the quality of modelling and strong vibrant decoration is a delight.

Current Condition Some professional restoration to tail and enamels. The trident is a replaced.
