Antique English creamware pottery pitcher American Independence c1800

Dated: c. 1800 to c. 1810 Liverpool or Staffordshire England

Polychrome probably Liverpool Creamware Pitcher .
One side of the pitcher has a Revolutionary War Officer probably General Washington with Cannon's and an American Flag with 15-Stars and Sailing Ships unloading cargo in the background.The surrounding inscription reads: "Success to America whose Militia is better than Standing Armies - May its Citizens Emulate Soldiers And its Soldiers Hero's - While Justice is the Throne to which we are bound to bend - Our Countries Rights and Laws we ever will defend".


Right side of the pitcher with an American Merchant Ship flying an American Flag with 15 stars. The transfer below the spout is a spread-winged Heraldic Shield American Eagle, with ribbon in beak with "E. PLURIBUS UNUM" and clutching an olive branch and arrows in talons, with surrounding inscription, "Peace, Commerce and Honest Friendship with all Nations. Entangling Alliances with none - Jefferson .

The pitcher is a rare historically important piece with good sharp transfers and enamel decorations.
